Then we went to a Cardio Combo class that I wasn't too excited about, but participated in anyway. It combined step aerobics and cardio kick boxing. It was hard. Here is a picture of Julia and our instructor Masha after the class.
After lunch (Polenta-Veggie Bake w/ salad and fruit), a few of us went to a class taught by LynnAnn to teach us defensive moves. She discussed what to do if we are out for our walk and a creeper is following us. Also about the importance of making sure someone knows where we are going, what route we are taking and when we will return. That way if something happens, then someone will be waiting for us. Then we went over some holds and how to break away from them and then how to kick an assailant in his shin, knee, or heehee. :0) It was pretty fun.
Then Julia and I went 'Vermonting' on the Hawk Trail (aka a road in a nice development 15 minutes from where we are staying). We took our time on this walk since we had already had 2 fitness classes in the morning. It was pretty cold, but the fresh air was nice. Here are some pics.
We came back for snack and then I went to a class about how to meal plan when you are a Chaotic Eater. I wasn't totally into the class as I was a little tired from the busy day. Basically, I learned that I probably need to try to replicate my eating patterns here when I return home. Since I will be working from home, I will be able to eat the right foods. I will need to make sure I am eating regularly and I am eating balanced meals that follow the plate model. (50% Veggies; 25% Starch; 25% Protein)
Dinner this evening was chicken parmesan with spaghetti and kale. I wasn't a big fan of the kale...but I was a big fan of the chocolate ice cream we had for dessert! After dinner those of us who have been together for 2 weeks took a photo. (Lisa, Denise, Barb, Karin, Me, Julia, Patty, Alyson)
Also, it was exciting today because we got our pottery pieces back! Here is my Green Mountain Mug that I have put my suggestions in for when I want to eat because I am bored, overwhelmed, and/or tired.
I am writing this post as Julia packs and then we are heading down stairs for an evening of games and karaoke. While I love both, I am still pretty exhausted today, so I don't know how much I will participate. Tomorrow Julia leaves at 9:45AM and then I may take the morning cardio class and then I will see where the day takes me! Patty is renting a car for the weekend, so maybe I will join her for something and leave the bubble....scary.
Those hikes you take are gorgeous...and I love the mug you made!
